As the war in Ukraine progresses, the FBI has seen Russia take steps to carry out potentially devastating cyberattacks against U.S. and foreign targets, according to FBI Director Christopher Wray, prompting the agency to preempt potential targets and stop attacks. Christopher Ray, speaking at the Boston Cyber Security Conference, said that Russian-based ransomware gangs are engaged in cyber activities in support of the Russian government.
However, according to Christopher Wray, China has been closely following the events since the beginning of the war in Ukraine and is by far the biggest national threat to the United States. China's efforts to dominate the world's technology are partly due to the theft of research and confidential information from American companies.
